Employee misconduct comes in many forms, common types being systematic bullying, or sexual harassment, to name just two. It is seen these days as a potential for loss of morale in the workplace. It can, if not resolved effectively, end up as expensive Industrial Tribunal cases, costing the company many thousands of pounds.
Remember, the longer you leave a problem employee in service, the more difficult it will be to get rid of him or her.
Often, without clear evidence of misconduct, perhaps with all “investigation” done in-house; a wrong and very expensive decision could be made.
